Katarzyna Biernacka holds a degree in computer science from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. In her diploma thesis she designed a 3D scanner based on Kinect. Her strong interest in digital tools and the new forms of learning shaped her research interest. In the winter of 2015/2016 she joined Prof. Pinkwart's research group, where she has been conducting research in the field of mobile information and communication technologies in teaching using the example of Latin America. Since February 2019, she has been a research assistant at the Institute and conducts research in the field of "Publication of Research Data - Research Integrity - Privacy".

In addition to her research, Katarzyna, as an advocate of Open Science, offers various workshops on this and related topics.
