Dr. Michael T. Rücker

Michael Rücker received his Master's degree in Education at Humboldt-Universität in 2014, with the subjects computer science and English. Subsequently he joined the work group of Prof. Pinkwart as a research assistant and, in February 2020, received his doctorate with highest distinction (summa cum laude). In his dissertation, he used a qualitative design, particularly grounded-theory methods, to investigate student conceptions of computing devices and their role in learning transfer from school to everyday life.

In December 2021, he successfully completed his teacher training and the second state exam for a secondary school teacher with the subjects computer science and English.

In February 2022, Dr. Rücker rejoined the group here at Humboldt-Universität to work on his own DFG-funded project on Competencies for the Assessment of Computing System Consequences.

In September 2023, he started a junior professorship for computing education at Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena.
