Jane holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) and a master's in computer science from Malmö University, Sweden. In her master’s thesis, she investigated how mobile phones can be used to reduce maternal mortality in Uganda and Tanzania.

She is a lecturer at the faculty of computing and informatics at MUST. She joined the research group of Prof. Pinkwart in December 2015 on a KAAD grant to conduct PhD studies and successfully defended her PhD in September 2021. Her research focused on designing and evaluating a multimedia intervention for illiterate and semi-illiterate pregnant women in developing countries with Uganda as a case study.

Her research interests include mobile computing, ICT for development and health informatics with a strong focus on low resource settings.
