Jane holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), a master's in computer science from Malmö University, Sweden and a PhD in computer science from Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. She joined the research group of Prof. Pinkwart in December 2015 on a KAAD grant to conduct PhD studies and successfully defended her PhD in September 2021. Her research focused on designing and evaluating a multimedia intervention for illiterate and semi-illiterate pregnant women in developing countries with Uganda as a case study. Her research interests include mobile computing, ICT for development and health informatics with a strong focus on low resource settings. She has been a co-investigator on two research projects (MatHealth and MobileMomCare), both of which were funded by the German ministry of education and research (BMBF).
