The Databases and Information Systems group at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany, is looking for a
Full-Time Research Associate in Process Mining (TV-L 13), PhD or Postdoc level
The position is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) for 4 years as part of the Research Unit "SOURCED – Process Mining on Distributed Event Sources".
The DBIS group at HU Berlin conducts research mainly in three area: process mining, i.e., the data-driven analysis of business processes; algorithms and systems for data stream processing and complex event recognition; and methods to support exploratory data analysis.
The position is part of the DFG Research Unit SOURCED that involves further research groups at Bayreuth University, Kiel University, TU Dresden, and HU Berlin. Specifically, the focus of the position will be on distributed abstraction of low-level event data that also incorporates privacy considerations.
Successful applicants will:
- Conduct research in the field of process mining and data engineering
- Publish research results in renowned journals and the proceedings of leading international conferences
- Collaborate with other researchers and visit other research groups within SOURCED and its international network
Applicants should have:
- An excellent MSc degree (PhD level position) or an excellent PhD (Postdoc level position) in computer science, data science, or related fields
- Very good programming skills
- Strong analytical thinking skills
- Comprehensive interest in scientific problems and the ability to work independently and within a larger team
- Excellent scientific communication and writing skills (knowledge of German is not required)
