Swathi Krishnaraja is a Computer Scientist holding a Master of Science degree from Saarland University. In her master's thesis, she investigated the effectiveness of customization in a gamification intervention. During her studies, her main focus was on Human-Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence in Education, and User Experience studies.

In April 2021, Swathi joined as a Research Fellow at the Chair of Prof. Pinkwart, Computer Science Education | Computer Science and Society at the Humboldt University of Berlin. She is currently working on a project funded by the DFG (German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft)) for detecting and supporting student creativity in online learning (DSSC). Previously, she worked as a Research Assistant at the Weizenbaum Institute of the Networked Society (WZB), focusing on empirical and experimental investigations that help in the digital transformation of existing business models in Education. During her period, she published articles on the topics of Artificial Intelligence in Education, Educational Technology (EdTech), and Human-centered Artificial Intelligence.

In October 2020, She collaborated with the Berkman Klein Center at Harvard University for a research project that has a special emphasis on Education and Learning Spaces. Through research assistantships, she worked on multiple projects that dealt with investigating human factors and user experience with intelligent technologies, at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). Her main fields of research include Artificial Intelligence in Education with a special focus on Human-Centeredness, Technology-enhanced Learning, and Learning Analytics.
