Michael Rücker received his Master's degree in Education from Humboldt-Universität in Spring 2014. His teaching subjects are Computer Science and English. His Bachelor's thesis explores a task-based approach to teaching introductory programming at shools, for which he transfered concepts from English to computer science education. His Master's thesis proposes and partially evaluates a spiral curriculum for teaching Petri Nets at secondary schools. For this, he also developed a Petri Net editor specifically designed for the use at schools.

Michael joined the research group of Prof. Pinkwart in June 2014. His research focuses on children's perceptions, conceptions and mental models of computing systems.
