Alexander Heuts (born as Prang) completed the bachelor programme in Mathematics with minor field Computer Science in March 2016. Therefore he received the degree of Bachelor of Arts from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. In his bachelor thesis he proved the existence of Nash equilibria in finite normal-form games. Afterwards, he completed the masters programme Teaching qualification with a focus on grammar schools in these subjects in February 2018. Therefore he received the degree of Master of Education also from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. His master thesis was about iPads in teaching to support self-motivation for learning and media literacy. For this he carried out an evaluation project at a school in Berlin.

During his studies he worked from January 2014 to October 2017 as a student assistant at this chair, where he supported the projects FIT and DynaFIT. He also worked as a substitute teacher from February 2017 to February 2018 at a school in Berlin, where he taught computer science.

Alexander Heuts joined this chair as a research assistant in November 2017. He works for the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society (The German Internet Institute) as a PhD candidate in the research area "Knowledge, Education and Social Inequality" in the research group "Education and Advanced Training in the Digital Society". For his doctoral thesis, he deals with the transfer of digital literacy and works on a competence model that integrates the aspects of a digitally networked world.
