Ahmed Hassan received his Master's Degree in Software Engineering from UET Peshawar Pakistan in August 2015. His thesis title was "Multi-touch collaborative gesture recognition based user interfaces as behavioral interventions for children with an autism spectrum disorder".

He was a lecturer at the Software Engineering Department of UET Peshawar (Mardan Campus) and University of Malakand, Pakistan. He joined the research group of Prof. Pinkwart in October 2017 on a DAAD scholarship for Ph.D. He is currently doing research in the area of ​​Serious Games for Fostering the Social Behavior of Children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. In this regard, he has made a collaboration with Prof. Isabel Dziobek, Department of Psychology to develop a multi-player serious mobile game named "Zirkus Empathico 2.0" to improve the emotional intelligence of children with ASD.
