The Future of STEM Learning

since 2018

Digitization offers new opportunities for STEM education. To take advantage of these opportunities, digital media and tools must be an integral part of the STEM subjects in the future. All teachers need to be able to combine their subject with digital aspects. This creates massive new demands on schools and teachers. Accordingly, universities must expand teacher training and take up this important topic of the future.

What can STEM education look like in a digital world?

How can subject didactics and digitization be combined?

How can innovative digital teaching concepts for the STEM subject teaching of the future be developed for prospective teachers, tested in school practice and systematically integrated into teacher training and continuing education?

These are the questions that we at HU Berlin, the Universities of Kaiserslautern, CAU zu Kiel, Koblenz-Landau and JMU Würzburg want to answer together in a development alliance on the "Future of STEM Learning", funded by the Deutsche Telekom Foundation until 2022.
